When things like the following occur,
Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied
Run an Admin command console and (for example in C: drive) paste
takeown /f "C:folder_name" /r /d y
icacls "C:folder_name" /reset /T /CThe folder should be now ready for disposal.

That’s fine, and the shortcuts & start menu stuff returned. 🙂
Still, the install dialog should make those optional, looks like you want the Wix Toolset for that. 🙂 -

Okay, made those changes: https://github.com/deathssoul/MWEdit/actions/runs/18993040962

Perfect! Will get that fixed and then we can do a final test before the version bump and the update script test 🙂
No idea how to get the executable in the root of the MWEdit directory using CPack but I’ll add it to the wishlist!

Think so. yes. License is fine. 🙂

Did the shortcuts work before? We definitely want the options. Apologies, the shortcuts are probably the least documented part of CPack.
Does the license show up properly now?

The program itself is fine now. 🙂
There are no start menu or desktop shortcuts implemented at all now, did you want that? There’s still no option in the install dialog
for those shortcuts, which might explain it. -

Okay, here’s a new attempt: https://github.com/deathssoul/MWEdit/actions/runs/18967509920
It should put all files in the bin directory (will add a note to look for the extra data files elsewhere on the tracker later) and hopefully it fixes the issues with desktop shortcuts and Start Menu entries. I also changed the
LICENSEfile toLICENSE.txtas…[Read more] -

Thanks. That’s probably due to me using the DATA file type. The install system on CMake is poorly documented for anything other than *nix, sadly. I may be able to force them into the same directory, will look into it. Eventually, we may want a manifest file to go with the executable so that we can put the DLLs wherever we want. Does Microsoft…[Read more]

The DLLs and dat files are in the share folder, which like the bin folder, is a subfolder of the MWEdit folder. The executable in the bin folder doesn’t see them yet. 🙂
Yeah, some of the files are in it are older, so no problem – see:

Ah, yes, it has to be run on a Windows based system before copying the game over to Linux. Not sure about Windows Server – will it run on Wine?

Linux doesn’t support Batch files but Shell syntax is similar: https://www.gnu.org/software/bash/manual/bash.html
Most of the basic commands have similar versions on Linux, too. May not be too difficult to put together a Shell script, as well? 🙂

Crumpets. The license should be getting imported. I’ll have to take a closer look at the commands. I definitely have that option set but I may need to update the file format
What’s in the Config directory? That’s new.
Are the DLLs anywhere? May need to tweak the directory layout. What’s the directory structure look like? They’re definitely…[Read more]

There’s no Licence agreement, and it’s best to include a prompt to run the show at the final install step. There’s a folder called Config.Msi created in the C: directory. The bin and share folders look okay, as you know, the exe aborts because of the missing DLLs.
As far as testing goes, we’ll want to check UpperLowerProper for Morrowind on Linux…[Read more]

We now have an installer in the MSI format: https://github.com/deathssoul/MWEdit/actions/runs/18903584084/artifacts/4403855739
If possible, could you do a test run and report back as to its behavior? I have no clue if it’s set up properly. 😛

We now have a 64-bit build of MWEdit. Swapping out the 32-bit version of DevIL did the trick. Now I just need to clean everything up and we can decide on a build system. The packaging script needs fixing: apparently, GitHub Actions preserves the directory structure during packaging so we have an unusable archive without moving the files around…[Read more]

Couldn’t find many scaled power plants available for model railroads (found a few coal plants) and couldn’t find any nuclear power plants that are still available. Only thing I could find was this discontinued one. There are a few blueprint files available for 3D printers, however. Granted, that requires a 3D printer 😛

Have it outside! The neighbours are sure to want to get involved, even when the theme is atomic! Come to think of it, a model nuclear plant is sure to pique the interest of local boffins as well.
