Something (probably me) tripped the cord onto the sleeping 1200 VA 720W Eaton UPS: 5S1200AU, thus won’t power on means it or the batteries have kicked the bucket.
Yep, two batteries, and not cheap through the official, alternatives include the ones at Amazon, manufactured in Taiwan if it were ever a thing, whereas the provenance is Vietnam for this or this.
Anyway, the securing screws on the UPS don’t conform to anything on hand, and the bum software support from Eaton are enough to tip the scales over to a hopefully, better product.
And shock horror, could have got it for considerably less with free delivery through …. Amazon! So, to relieve the pain, ordered a second for another family member. 🙂
